On April 22, the World Snooker Tour officially announced that the 2026 China Open will make its long-awaited return in August, rejoining the official WST ranking event calendar. This marks the tournament’s comeback to the global professional snooker circuit after a six-year absence since it was last held in 2019.
According to the schedule, the 2026 WST China Open will take place from August 7 to August 16 in Taiyuan, with a total prize fund exceeding £1.2 million. The lineup will feature top stars such as Ronnie O'Sullivan, Mark Williams, John Higgins, Shaun Murphy, and Judd Trump. Meanwhile, the Chinese contingent, led by Zhao Xintong, will also compete in front of home fans.
