Guangdong GZ-Power clinch promotion

In the 26th round of the Chinese Football League 1, Guangdong GZ-Power came from behind to defeat Dingnan United 3-1, securing the Chinese Football League 1 championship ahead of schedule. With this victory, Guangdong GZ-Power have earned promotion, marking Guangzhou football's return to the top tier.

In the 9th minute, Dingnan United took the lead as the away side. In the 32nd minute, Hou Yu scored with a powerful shot to equalize for GZ-Power. In the 68th minute, Osumane Camara received the ball on the left, dribbled into the left side of the penalty area, cut inside, and fired a right-footed shot to put the hosts ahead. In stoppage time, Osumane Camara again broke into the left side of the box and scored from a tight angle, sealing the victory for Guangdong GZ-Power.

With this win, Guangdong GZ-Power clinched the Chinese Football League 1 title with four rounds remaining and secured promotion to next season’s Chinese Super League. Founded in 2023, the club has achieved a remarkable rise from the Chinese Champions League to the Super League in just four seasons.

With Guangdong GZ-Power’s successful promotion, Guangzhou football will return to the CSL stage in the 2027 season. After four consecutive seasons without a Guangzhou team in the top flight, the city has finally regained representation in the league.
