In the the AFC U-20 Asian Cup opener, China narrowly lost to Japan. China surprisingly took a 1:0 lead just 4 minutes into the game through a corner, which led to Hayato Tanaka's own goal. Naoki Kumata's doudle within 4 mins in the 2nd half finally took a 2:1 comeback win for Japan.
