In the first Shanghai derby since 2019, Wu Lei scored a header from a corner kick to give the home side the lead. In the second half, Yu Hanchao equalized for Shenhua. In the 89th minute, Joao Teixeira was sent off for striking  Wang Shenchao's knee.
