Wang Xinyu to the Berlin Open 1/4 semi-finals

In the quarterfinals of the WTA 500 Berlin Open, Wang Xinyu advanced to the semifinals after Paula Badosa retired following a 6–1 first-set loss. Wang Xinyu now defeated two top-10 players in a row, winning five consecutive matches from the qualifying rounds to reach the semifinals of a grass-court tour event for the first time in her career.
