Yang Hansen has become the highest-picked Chinese player in the NBA Draft since Yi Jianlian was selected 6th overall in 2007. He is also the first Chinese homegrown player to be drafted in the NBA draft in nine years - in 2016, Zhou Qi and Wang Zhelin were drafted in the 2nd round.
