Juliette Woctez, a 27-year-old French athlete, saluted with her sword and clasped fists as she concluded her Chengdu World Games journey to the cheers of the crowd. She finished sixth in the changquan–jian (straight sword)–qiang (spear) all-around.
In a post-event interview, she said she had started practicing martial arts at the age of six and now continues to train while working, noting that “the path of martial arts has no end.” She added that she appreciates the composure and calmness in Chinese culture: “Extremes meet and wu wei — they align closely with the spirit of martial arts, and I find that very interesting.”
