In the second round of the U-17 Women's World Cup group stage, China’s U-17 women’s team lost 2–5 to the United States. In the first half, Zhou Xinyi opened the scoring for China with a stunning long-range strike. The U.S. then came from behind with goals from Lauren Malsohm, Nianya Toure, and Maddie DiMaria.In the second half, Nianya Toure and Lauren Malsohm each scored again to complete their braces, while Zeng Yijie pulled one back for China with a direct free kick.
