
 
                        Over the course of his career, he managed 13 teams: Varaždin, Rijeka, Hannover 96 in Germany, the Iran national team, Iran Olympic team, Dinamo Zagreb, Shandong Taishan, Al-Ettifaq, Al-Wahda of the UAE, Persepolis of Iran, Al-Ahli of Jeddah, the Oman national team, and the China national team. In total, he coached 701 matches, recording 368 wins, 157 draws, and 172 losses — a win rate of about 52.5%. He led Shandong Luneng to win the 2010 CSL champion.
