Zheng Qinwen withdraws from Australian Open

Zheng Qinwen announced on her personal social media that, following an evaluation by her team and on doctors’ advice, she will withdraw from the Australian Open in 2026. Zheng Qinwen underwent arthroscopic surgery on her elbow last year. She returned to competition after a layoff of more than two months at the China Open in September, but was forced to retire injured in the deciding set of her third-round match against Linda Nosková, withdrawing the tournament in the round of 32. Since then, Zheng Qinwen has remained sidelined while continuing her rehabilitation and has yet to make her return in an official match.
