In the first round of the WTA 1000 Doha event, Zheng Qinwen made her season debut following her return from injury, which left her on the sidelines for six months. She fired 20 aces and came from behind to defeat Sofia Kenin 4–6, 6–1, 6–2, securing a winning start.
