
In Round 3 of the Chinese Football Super League, Chengdu Rongcheng hosted Qingdao West Coast. Powered by a hat-trick from Felipe Silva, along with goals from Wellington Silva and Egor Sorokin, Chengdu cruised to a 5–1 victory to stay top of the league table.

Chengdu started on the front foot and took the lead in the 7th minute. A long throw-in caused confusion in the Qingdao box, with Wang Peng missing his clearance, and Wellington Silva converting with a spectacular volley to make it 1–0. In the 29th minute, Chengdu’s corner to the back post nearly forced an own goal as Wei Shihao attacked the ball.
Chengdu doubled their advantage in the 40th minute. Romulo’s effort was parried by Liu Shibo, and Sorokin reacted quickest to score from close range, giving the hosts a 2–0 lead. Before the break, Liao Lisheng received the match’s first yellow card for a tactical foul, and Chengdu went into half-time leading 2–0.
Qingdao made the first changes after the restart, bringing on Ding Haifeng and Yang Zhanpeng. In the 61st minute, Chengdu replaced Wang Ziming and He Yiran with Felipe Silva and Wang Dongsheng. A minute later, Liao’s right-footed strike from the edge of the area was blocked. In the 67th minute, Qingdao defender Song Haoyu was booked.
Chengdu continued to control proceedings and extended their lead in the 82nd minute. Wellington Silva provided the assist, and Felipe Silva finished with his left foot from the middle of the box to make it 3–0. Shortly after, Baihelamu replaced Wei Shihao. Felipe then struck again in the 85th minute, firing home from close range to put Chengdu 4–0 ahead.
In the third minute of stoppage time, Liu Xiaolong set up Aziz Yakubu, who pulled one back for Qingdao. Deep into added time, a Qingdao player was penalized for handball in the area, and Chengdu were awarded a penalty. Felipe Silva converted from the spot in the ninth minute of stoppage time to complete his hat-trick on his birthday night, sealing a 5–1 home win and keeping Chengdu Rongcheng top of the standings.
