Chinese Gymnastics Team Dominates in Cairo

The 2026 FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Cairo concluded on Monday, with the Chinese gymnastics team finishing atop the medal table with a total of 3 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze medals.

In the women's floor exercise final, Ke Qinqin delivered a smooth and stable routine to claim gold with a score of 12.966. She also performed impressively on the balance beam, scoring 13.166 to win silver. With one gold and one silver, Ke Qinqin was the highest-performing Chinese athlete at this event.

Jiang Shuting secured silver in the uneven bars final with a score of 13.700 after executing high-difficulty elements. Qiu Qiyuan and Yu Linmin added two bronze medals for China on the balance beam and vault respectively.

On the men's side, Liu Yang dominated the parallel bars final with a score of 14.366, showcasing high execution and a rock-solid landing to claim gold. He also earned a bronze medal in the rings event. Li Hongyan delivered a flawless performance in the men's horizontal bar final, scoring 14.400 to take gold. His routine featured seamless connections between flips and twists, along with a stable landing, adding another gold to China's tally.

At the Cairo stop, the Chinese gymnastics team combined experience with youth, and the young athletes showed remarkable progress. Their collection of 8 medals demonstrated the overall depth and strength of the squad.
