In 1997, Zheng Haixia was selected 16th overall in the second round by the Los Angeles Sparks in the inaugural WNBA Draft, becoming the first Chinese player to enter the league.
At the 2019 WNBA Draft, Han Xu was selected 14th overall in the second round by the New York Liberty, while Li Yueru was picked 35th overall in the third round by the Atlanta Dream.
