The 2026 World Snooker Championship gets underway today, with competitors vying for the top prize of £500,000. Recently, British media outlet The Sun compiled the 2025-26 snooker prize money rankings ahead of the World Championship. Chinese player Zhao Xintong tops the list with £1 million, while fellow Chinese cueist Wu Yize also features in the standings, sitting 8th overall.

In the 2025-26 season, Zhao Xintong has secured three ranking tournament titles — the World Grand Prix, the Players Championship and the Tour Championship — alongside one non-ranking tournament crown at the Riyadh Season Snooker Championship. He also reached the semi-finals in multiple other events, pushing his total seasonal prize money to £1 million and sealing his spot at the summit. Neil Robertson takes second place with over £900,000 in earnings, while Kyren Wilson ranks third with nearly £790,000.
Notably, another Chinese player Wu Yize breaks into the top ten in 8th position, with approximate prize money earnings of £485,000. This season, Wu claimed his maiden career ranking title at the International Championship, beating John Higgins 10-6 in the final. He also advanced to the final of the Championship League, where he finished as the runner-up after a 1-3 defeat to Mark Selby.
