The BWF issued an official statement confirming that the 3×15 scoring system had been approved. Chinese men's singles player Shi Yuqi commented on the change in an interview:“We just need to stay positive and adapt to the new scoring system. It has pros and cons. Shorter matches mean less physical load, but young opponents can hit harder and faster, and you won’t always have time to control the rhythm. The match can be over quickly, so we’ll need to stay even more focused.”
