Wu Yize Defeats Mark Selby 13-11

At the World Snooker Championship, Wu Yize faced four-time world champion Mark Selby. Wu Yize won 13-11, advancing to the World Championship quarterfinals for the first time in his career, and also ended his six-match losing streak against Selby. Wu Yize became the second Chinese player after Zhao Xintong to reach the quarterfinals of this year's World Championship.

In the first session, Selby made a strong start by taking a 2-0 lead with breaks of 123 and 124. However, Wu Yize quickly adjusted his form to respond, not allowing Selby to extend his lead. The two finished the first session tied at 4-4.

In the second session, after Selby took a 5-4 lead, Wu Yize launched a counterattack and turned the score around to 7-5. Throughout this session, Wu Yize played very proactively and finished the session leading 9-7.

In the third session, Selby struck first and narrowed the deficit to 8-9. However, Wu Yize seized on Selby's defensive lapses and played steadily after getting to the table, taking an 11-9 lead. Wu Yize reached match point first. Coming to the 24th frame, Wu Yize capitalized on Selby's mistake and finally secured the victory, winning 13-11 overall and advancing to the quarterfinals with his head held high.

Throughout the match, Wu Yize made five half-century breaks (52, 72, 56, 71, 53), becoming the second Chinese player after Zhao Xintong to reach the quarterfinals of this year's World Championship, achieving the best result of his career at the World Championship.
