
In the group stage of the 2026 World Team Table Tennis Championships in London, both the Chinese men’s and women’s teams got off to winning starts. The women’s team swept Romania 3-0, while the men’s team defeated England by the same scoreline.

In the women’s Group 1A match, Sun Yingsha led the way with a 3-0 victory over Adina Diaconu. Kuai Man followed with another 3-0 win against Andreea Dragoman. In the final match, Wang Yidi completed the sweep by defeating Elizabeta Samara 3-0.

In the men’s group match that followed, Lin Shidong beat Tom Jarvis 3-0. Wang Chuqin then overcame Samuel Walker, winning the first two games before briefly dropping one, but ultimately sealing the match comfortably in four games. In the final rubber, Liang Jingkun edged out Connor Green in a fiercely contested match. The two traded games to reach 2-2, and in the decider, Liang held his nerve to win 11-9, securing a 3-0 victory for China’s men’s team.
