On May 7, Beijing time, the ITTF officially announced the election results for the new Athletes’ Commission, with Chinese athlete Liu Shiwen re-elected.

The election concluded on May 4, with over 300 athletes from around the world participating in the vote for the able-bodied athlete commission, demonstrating strong engagement.
In accordance with the representation quotas set in Article 7.2 of the election rules—ensuring geographical and gender balance across Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Europe—the following eight athletes were elected:
Sharath Kamal Achanta (India) – 258 votes
Charlotte Carey (Wales) – 261 votes
Celia Baah Danso (Ghana) – 226 votes
Paul Drinkhall (England) – 278 votes
Sami Kherouf (Algeria) – 215 votes
Liu Shiwen (China) – 258 votes
Alberto Miño (Ecuador) – 264 votes
Elizabeta Samara (Romania) – 278 votes
As only two para-athletes stood for election, meeting the criteria for one wheelchair and one standing athlete each, no voting was required. Following a proposal by the ITTF Executive Board and approval by the Election Committee, the following two athletes were automatically elected:
Jack Hunter-Spivey (England)
Tahl Leibovitz (USA)
These ten athletes (eight able-bodied, two para-athletes) form the Centennial Athletes’ Commission. At this critical historical juncture in the development of table tennis, they will represent the voices of players across all categories. The ITTF congratulates the elected members and looks forward to working with the new Commission in the future.
