Brazilian media reports that Chengdu Rongcheng’s Brazilian center forward Felipe Silva is under contract with the club until the end of 2026, Chengdu Rongcheng have already opened talks with the 34-year-old striker, and Felipe himself is inclined to stay, but negotiations have yet to make progress.

This season, Felipe has been in red-hot form. After 10 league rounds, he has scored nine goals to lead the Chinese Super League scoring chart. Chengdu Rongcheng also top the table with 28 points from nine wins and one draw. Despite Felipe’s strong performances on the pitch, his future remains uncertain.
According to the report, with Felipe’s contract set to expire at the end of 2026, he would be able to enter talks with other clubs and sign a pre-contract as early as mid-season this year. Chengdu Rongcheng have begun negotiations over a contract extension, but there has been no breakthrough so far. At the same time, other Asian clubs have started making contact with Felipe, including a Japanese club.
Felipe said his first choice is to stay in Chengdu. “I have always hoped to continue here, but football changes in an instant,” he said. “I am waiting for the club’s decision, because I also need to consider the next step in my career. If no agreement is reached in the coming months, naturally there will be other options.”
Felipe joined Chengdu Rongcheng in the 2021 season and would complete five years in Chinese football by the end of the 2026 season, meeting the eligibility standard for naturalization. Domestic media reports say Felipe is positive about naturalization, but given his age of 34, there are still doubts over whether the process can be initiated.
