
On May 21, Wuhan Three Towns club officially announced that former Beijing Guoan and Changchun Yatai head coach Ricardo Suarez has replaced Mora as the new head coach of Wuhan Three Towns’ first team.

Following the club’s deliberation and decision, effective immediately, Portuguese coach Ricardo Suarez officially becomes the head coach of Wuhan Three Towns Football Club’s first team.
Ricardo Suarez was born on November 11, 1974. He has extensive international coaching experience, having worked in professional leagues in Portugal, Egypt, China and beyond. He helped Portuguese club Gil Vicente secure a spot in the UEFA Europa Conference League play-offs. In 2023, Suarez became head coach of Beijing Guoan, and in the 2024 season he guided the team to qualification for the AFC Champions League Two. He later coached Changchun Yatai during the 2025 Chinese Super League season.
Suarez has a distinctive coaching style, a firm grasp of modern football tactics, and a knack for devising tactical plans that suit his players’ strengths. Throughout his career, he has repeatedly led teams to breakthroughs in difficult situations, demonstrating strong in-game management and psychological adaptability.
Wuhan Three Towns Football Club warmly welcomes Mr. Ricardo Suarez and his coaching staff. In the journey ahead, under Mr. Suarez’s leadership, the club’s first team will give their all in every match, repaying every “12th man” who stands by them through thick and thin with sweat and determination.
Meanwhile, Wuhan Three Towns announced the departure of Benjamin Mora.
Following friendly negotiations and mutual agreement between the club and Benjamin Mora, Mr. Mora will no longer serve as head coach of Wuhan Three Towns’ first team.
