In the final round of the women’s singles qualifying tournament for the 2026 French Open, 28-year-old Chinese player Guo Hanyu defeated Greece’s Ksénia Xystra 6–3, 6–4 to advance to the main draw with a perfect record of three wins without dropping a set. It also marks the first time in her career that she has reached the singles main draw of a Grand Slam tournament.

With Guo Hanyu’s breakthrough, the number of Chinese players in the women’s singles main draw at the 2026 French Open has increased from the three who qualified directly through their rankings — Zheng Qinwen, Wang Xinyu, and Zhang Shuai — to four.
