On June 10, the China men’s basketball team announced its latest training camp roster. The team will participate in training from June 12 to July 2, preparing for the third window of the 2027 Basketball World Cup qualifiers. This roster includes a total of 21 players, with Yang Hansen returning to the team. Hu Jinqiu, Zhu Junlong, and Li Hongquan, who just finished competing in the CBA finals, have also been selected.

Head coach Guo Shiqiang spoke about the goal of this training camp, stating: “The aim of this training camp is to fully prepare for the third window of the 2027 Basketball World Cup qualifiers. These two games are vital for progression from the group stage and for future placements. The team attaches great importance to these matches and is preparing for difficulties and challenges. We will make every effort to prepare well through this camp and demonstrate fighting spirit and competitiveness on the court. This training camp and subsequent matches take place during the league’s offseason. Some players have just finished a tight league schedule and joined the national team without rest. One key focus is to help players quickly adjust to their best competitive condition in a short period.”
When speaking about the players, Guo Shiqiang said: “In formulating this roster, we not only focused on the requirements for the window’s games, but also considered talent scouting, development, and reserves for the 2027 Basketball World Cup and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Selection was made by comprehensively considering previous short-term camps and warm-up matches, along with players’ form, injuries, age structure, and upcoming opponents. The national team is always open to outstanding athletes, and there are also some new faces in this roster, providing more tactical options for the coaching staff. We hope this will foster a positive competitive environment within the team.”
Regarding specific training camp arrangements, Guo Shiqiang shared: “Time is tight and tasks are demanding for this camp. We hope to quickly adjust our status with the limited training period. The Chinese men’s basketball team is scheduled to play warm-up matches against Australia and the Netherlands at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium on June 21 and June 23, respectively, to test the effectiveness of our preparation. We will give our all in the upcoming two window matches, and demonstrate unity, fighting spirit, and resilience.”
