"First of all, I want to thank the Shenhua fans, our players, the coaching staff, and the club's leadership at all levels," Slutsky said. "I hope this great club will perform better in the coming matches and go as far as possible in this year's FA Cup."

"Working at Shenhua has been an unforgettable period in my life. I gave everything I had. But I think when there are things I cannot change, the right thing to do is to leave. I wish Shenhua all the best."

Slutsky took charge of Shenhua at the start of the 2024 season and narrowly missed out on the league title in his first two campaigns. This season, Shenhua have recorded 8 wins, 5 draws and 7 losses. Having started the season with a 10-point deduction due to the match-fixing scandal, they currently sit 13th in the league table.
