Alcaraz on liking Zheng Qinwen's post

On October 12, the 2026 ATP Shanghai Masters continued. In the men’s singles third round, No. 2 seed Carlos Alcaraz lost to Bergs 5-7, 6-7(4) and was upset out of the tournament.

In his post-match interview, Alcaraz talked about liking Zheng Qinwen’s posts. Earlier, after Zheng Qinwen won the China Open, Alcaraz liked posts by Zheng Qinwen and her coach Pere Riba. Alcaraz said: “She’s clearly a very good player, and her coach is Spanish, so we have a good relationship. So I’m really happy for both her and her team. She went through a tough period before, her ranking dropped, and she even had to play qualifying. So for her to come back like this is really amazing.

“From what I understand, she’s the first Chinese player to win the singles title at the China Open. She’s achieving great things and has been training very hard. I believe this won’t be the last time she wins a big title. I wish her all the best in the future.”
