The 2026 WTT Contender Istanbul will take place from November 10 to 15, with China led by Liang Jingkun alongside a group of young players.

Liang returned to action at the China Smash last Sunday after a five-month absence since the London World Championships. He lost in the round of 32 to Chinese Taipei’s Kuo Kuan-hung and, alongside Xiang Peng, fell to India’s Manush Shah/Takha in the men’s doubles quarter-finals. After his injury, Liang’s form has yet to return to its ideal level.
He was originally set to play the men’s team and singles at next week’s Asian Championships, but after a comprehensive assessment of his physical condition and injury by the national team’s medical staff, he was deemed unable to take on the scheduled events. He has, however, been named in both the men’s singles and men’s doubles for next month’s Contender Istanbul.
