Shenhua's Zhu Chenjie suffers facial fracture

Shanghai Shenhua Football Club has issued an official statement: Zhu Chenjie has suffered a fracture of the right maxilla and is expected to recover in 4 to 6 weeks.

In the 28th round of the 2026 Chinese Super League on October 18, during Shanghai Shenhua's away match against Wuhan Three Towns, our player Zhu Chenjie collided heads with an opposing player while contesting a corner kick in the 78th minute.

Although he managed to complete the match, Zhu reported increasing pain on the right side of his face after the game. Following an assessment by the medical team, he was accompanied to the hospital for a CT scan. The diagnosis confirmed a fracture of the right maxilla, with an estimated recovery period of 4 to 6 weeks.

To prevent aggravation of the injury, Zhu Chenjie will return to Shanghai by high-speed train today, accompanied by the team doctor.
