Wen Ruibo reflects on win over Wang Chuqin

In the early hours of November 6 Beijing time, China's fourth seed Wang Chuqin lost 3-0 to compatriot Wen Ruibo in the men's singles round of 16 at WTT Champions Frankfurt 2026. After the match, Wen admitted that he had gone into the contest determined to give Wang a tough challenge and had not expected to win.

Wen said: "I just went into the match determined to give it my all against him. Big Bro (Wang Chuqin) is on a completely different level from me, both in terms of his ability and what he's achieved. So I had nothing to lose. I just went out there, played freely and gave it everything I had. I honestly didn't expect to win."

On his tactical approach, Wen said: "I tried to keep things as simple as possible against him today. He's really strong on both serve and receive, so I tried to avoid getting drawn into those situations as much as I could."
